The Cream of Cafés

I think you may have read on my website – I have a list of top ten things to do whilst staying at Layhead Farm Cottages.

Elaine’s Tearoom, Feizor

Cafes, pubs and restaurants are dotted all over the Yorkshire Dales and I think they are an important part of your holiday.  On my website I have flagged up Elaine’s Café & Tearoom in Feizor.  Feizor is an interesting place and it is almost like going back in time when you visit the village.  There is no through road and the stone houses and farms are grouped along the edge of the narrow ‘main’ street, some dating back to the 17th century. There is no church, shop, school or garage but there is an excellence café serving home cooked lunches, cakes, snacks and afternoons teas. If you are walking or cycling in the Austwick/Feizor area, it is an excellent place to stop off for a cuppa.

Andy at The Court Yard Dairy

About two miles away from Feizor towards Settle on the A65, there is a brand new award winning shop, cheese museum and cheese specialist café.  Many of you may have visited the cheese shop when it was situated at The Courtyard and it now has a new home.  Owned and operated by Andy and Kathy Swinscoe, it has already become a renowned destination shop, enabling regulars and visitors alike the opportunity to sample and purchase some of the finest cheese to be found in Europe, whilst benefiting from Andy and Kathy’s comprehensive and entertaining cheese knowledge.  They are also planning a few cheese making and cheese tasting courses
