As lockdown eases slightly, products that initially became scarce are slowly starting to appear back on the supermarket shelves. But it’s amazing how you learn to adapt quickly when you have to.
Take flour for example. Flour was one of the first things to disappear in the UK (along with toilet roll, but we won’t go into that). First, it was thought the scarcity of flour was because the millers couldn’t keep up with production. Surprisingly the main reason was the lack of packaging.
Who’d have thought!
Not to be outdone, we at Layhead still wanted to have our cake so we started to look for flourless recipes.
And we were not disappointed.
We came across this simply divine chocolate cake recipe by King Arthur Flour based in the USA. If you’re still struggling to source flour, and even if you’re not, why not try out their recipe for fun.
Chocolate cake fans will LOVE it. And if you have someone in your family who is gluten free BINGO! It’s perfect for them too.
Here’s the link to the recipe.
P.S. Just so you know, double cream is equivalent to heavy cream stated in the recipe.
Enjoy!
