Today has got to be one of the BEST days of the year! Why? Because it’s Pancake Day – yay!
Pancakes are so adaptable. You can fill them with something sweet, something savoury or you can eat them just as they are.
Here are some fantastic pancake facts.
The largest pancake in the world was created in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, in 1994. It was 49 foot (ft) wide and one inch (in) thick. The pancake weighed three tonnes.
The tallest stack of pancakes was 3 ft 4 in. Over 200 pancakes were balanced on top of each other in Sherwood Forest, Nottingham in 2016.
The highest pancake flip was measured at 31 ft 1 in.
And finally, the record for the most pancake flips is officially held by Australian celebrity chef Brad Jolly – flipping a pancake 140 times in 60 seconds!
As we say in Yorkshire “flippin’ ‘eck!”
Enjoy your day!
