#5 Simple Tips for a Happy Holiday Cottage Christmas

If you’re planning on celebrating Christmas away from home this year here are #5 simple tips to make it special.

1.Most holiday cottages will already have Christmas decorations. If you have children in your party, to make it a bit more personal, take along some Christmas decorations to make so they can add them to the tree or hang them up around the cottage.

2.Take ingredients along to make some gingerbread men to hang on the tree or just enjoy with a cup of hot chocolate. Or bake some before you set off and get the kids to decorate them on Christmas Eve.

3.Remember to order and take the turkey with you. It might be a good idea to buy a foil baking tin to cook the turkey in. No need for arguments as to who has to wash the encrusted dish after the meal

4.Plan some fun activities to do that everyone can join in. Take along some board games and some favourite movies. Make your own popcorn – the kids will love this!

5.Ensure you pack clothes for the weather. Hats, gloves, wellies, and layers. Look at a map of the area before you arrive at your cottage and plan a walk on Christmas Day. Take along marshmallows and sprinkles and make a special hot chocolate for everyone after the walk. Try this recipe for something different
